About Lady Newman

Hello WARRIOR!  Thank you for taking an interest in getting to know my story.  I came to this country as an immigrant from the Caribbean when I was almost 4 years old.  I grew up in the Bronx, New York where I attended the Public Schools system.  At an early age I realized my love for music and singing in particular and I decided that I was going to HOLLYWOOD!!  I auditioned for the HIGHLY competitive High School of Performing Arts in New York City and was accepted as a Vocal Music student. I went on to attend college at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA where I majored in Commercial Jazz/Vocal Performance. Although I accepted the Lord as my personal Savior at a young age, it was at Temple University's Campus Crusade for Christ under the Leadership of a young Pastor named Troy Bronner that I rededicated my life back to Jesus Christ and became an active, tithing member of the Sharon Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor (now Bishop) Keith W. Reed, Sr.

 

I was married to Dr. John Allen Newman on December 21, 1996 in Philadelphia, PA and immediately afterwards transitioned my life and business to Jacksonville, FL to join my husband in ministry. I've served in various parts of ministry from teaching Vacation Bible School to Adult Sunday School and teaching Leadership Workshops. I currently serve as an Intercessor on the Prayer Ministry, a member of the Discipleship Team, Leader of the Women's Ministry and I also preside over the Worship Services as a Praise & Worship Leader.

 

Professionally, I am a National Sales Director with Mary Kay Cosmetics, Inc.  I am the 17th African American woman to attain this position out of less than 400 women in the history of Mary Kay and I'm currently the youngest African American woman to debut at the Top of the Company!  And yes........I do drive a Pink Cadillac!

 

I've been blessed to be able to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ while pursuing my own business ministering to women. I've also had the pleasure of earning all expense paid luxury vacations for myself and my husband to 4 Continents including Europe, Australia, North America and China. I've also traveled with my husband to Kakamega, Kenya in East Africa where we support the ministries of 60 Pastors, 3 Schools that educate, feed and care for almost 900 children most of which are orphans.

 

As a noted Motivational & Inspirational Speaker/Teacher, I have had opportunity to share my Leadership expertise at Churches, Women's Conferences, Public Schools, Non-Profit Organizations and in Business Forums.  God has given me a deep love and abiding heart for His people and has gifted me with the passion and influence to encourage them to be all that they were designed to be, understanding fully that WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERORS!!

I am a firm believer that only what you do for CHRIST will last and that "Winners Never Quit & Quitters Never Win"!  My life verse is Phil 4:13 "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me".  Oh, as for me going to HOLLYWOOD?.......Well, clearly that wasn't in God's plans for my life and to that I say

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!
